On March 7, 8 2009, T-31 went on its annual Snow Camping trip. There were 26 scouts and 13 adults! Weather was beautiful, and fresh snow from earlier in the week made building the snow caves quick work. We drove up from the Bay Area early Saturday, arriving about 8:30am at Boreal. It is a short hike up to the site where we camp, which is on the other side of I-80 from the Boreal Ski area. After making a kitchen area, cave sites were chosen down around the hilltop. Most caves were done by about 3:00 that afternoon and we got an early start on dinner. After a cozy night in the caves, we had a leisurely breakfast, collapsed the caves, and were on the road by about noon.
